Das mag schon für Vieles stimmen, ich habe die weissen allerdings ca. 3 Jahre und um die 30.000km gefahren und das Rollerle wurde dann im Alter von 10 mit 60tkm mit denen verkauft. Die haben definitiv so lange gehalten. Das es Bessere gibt ist Zweifellos und ob ich die bei der 300er noch nehmen würde wäre auch fraglich. Bei einer Serien-125er würde ich aber mal die Kirche im Dorf lassen und jederzeit wieder zu diesen Dingern greifen. Da wären mir die goldenen noch viel zu Schade/teuer dafür ...
Also ich mach das weniger von den ccm abhaengig als von der gewuenschten fahrsicherheit und wo das moped bewegt wird.
Auch nur 15ps "koennen weh tun" wenn schlechtes fahrwerk und miese reifen zusammenkommen (beides wichtigst fuer das bremsverhalten) ((und gerne beides eher schlecht)) und man es gerade nicht mehr dabremst sondern auf die pappn fliegt
Nur stadt, jo mei, ok, jedenfalls reifen! das immer, aber fahrwerk kann bleiben. Ist da etwas ausserorts/ueberland dabei empfehle ich auch das fahrwerk zu verbessern

Gern wird aber lieber ein nervtoetender und sinnloser schreitopf gekauft um 500,- statt zuerst in sicherheit zu investieren...

zumindest in Sachen Reifen ist kein Handlungsbedarf - > die bei neueren SH 300 (mW ab Modelljahr 2011) als Erstbereifung montierten Metzeler sind gut.
Sofern ich Nachrüstbedarf in Sachen Feder / Dämpfer habe, würde ich IKON in die engere Auswahl nehmen. Als Leichtgewicht komme ich bislang mit der Serienlösung ganz gut zurecht - ein Durchschlagen habe ich nicht
Bei mir als Schwergewicht auf Stufe 3 schlägt auch nichts durch.
Durchschlagen ist vermutung und relativ, im fahrverhalten sind die dinger viel zu hart und daempfen eindeutig zuwenig
Gut zu hoeren dass gute schlapfen drauf sind! Bei mir gibts dunlop scoot smart und der gestrige hattr die michelin city grip drauf auf meinen tip.hin und schwaermte begeistert dass er einen komplett anderen roller hat seit dem umstieg von den originalen auf diese
Einen anderen beverly, nein wie heisst der krapfen... Scara woswasi 125ccm testgefahren betreffend mopedzustand und vario, da frisch gebraucht gekauft. Vorne city grip hinten neuen pirelli angel osä drauf (den der vorbesitzer noch aufgezogen hatte) ein ziemlicher mistreifen der viiel.zu frueh schon nur im.trockenen die haftung verliert. Wo man von pirelli eigentlich nicht von sowas ausgehen wuerde... Machen.ja top.motorradreifen

The biggest problem I have with the IKON was when I ran hard on bad roads, they start swing in the first bump and wasn't finish with that before I hit the next bump and I only could adjust the preload in steps. On normal road they work fine. With the RAZOR Lite the spring preload havn't any steps and the rebound damping is adjustable. I have a really bad road where I test on and now the bike flow over the bumps

I ran the Ikons for a long time, they are a good basic shock. But they are based on decades old Konis and showing their age. On rough roads the ride is harsh and tiring, back the damping off one notch and it becomes smoother but the back end wallows causing the front end to weave. Not much fun in corners.
I had a set of Ricor shocks made, apart from spring preload there is no adjustment but I have never felt a need to alter their performance. Soft over the sharp bumps, control over the long wallow inducing dips and rises. I deliberately look for bumps through the corners but nothing seems to faze the bike, and the ride is much more comfortable than before. I also fitted Gold Caddy emulators to the forks and now they have damping as well. Same performance on rough roads as the shocks. A lot of money and effort involved for the suspension mods but I have had the bike for over a decade now and still have no thoughts of selling.
On a budget or a smooth road, the Ikons are great but there are more modern shocks available now(for a higher price).

I've put 200,000 miles on mine, also ran them on 3 Mustangs, 3 Spitfires, 1 Mercedes Benz over the past 50 years and I plan to install them on the 07 Accord. I have not experienced the problems you refer to.
The huge advantage to Koni dampers is the marked improvement in ride quality (takes the harshness right out of a Spitfire or ironhead). And there are no 'notches' in the damping adjustment on the Sportster shock...you pull the rubber bump stop, compress the unit and turn until you engage the pin with the hole and either tighten or loosen the damping.
What spring were you using and what was the preload?

Koni's were among the best available years ago. But technology has moved ahead. Ikon haven't.

I can't remember exactly the settings I had for the Ikons. I think the springs were second up from the softest setting, damping on stop 2 would cause a rear end wallow on long shallow bumps which turned into weaving in faster corners. Changing the damping to stop 3 would fix that but then the rear end was harsh over sharp ridges. I tried all manner of adjustments but any setting was always a compromise. They are good value for money shocks, I had a set of Konis on my 1978 Ducati 900SS back in the day and they suited that bike well. But motorcycles have improved a lot since then including suspension.

Hi Plasma, the Hagon's make a world of a difference. I have the bog standard ones, with a weight matched spring. Tell them your weight and they will give you the correct spring strength. If you are not vertically challenged i would get the Thruxton length ones too(as i think you have a bonnie?). As this will improve handling further. I tend to ride very fast and they are perfect. They come with 3 preload settings:
1. comfy riding one up.
2. two up or fast riding one up.
3.two up with luggage or one up on track.
Damping is fixed and these are a world of a difference over the standards. I would recommend them.

I have the Classic III fully shrouded ones. They feel so good that I don't even think about the rear end anymore, it just behaves impeccably.
They will also supply them to whatever length you wish.
The only down side is that they squeak a bit when you bounce the rear end with the bike stopped. Once on the move you can't hear them.

Das mag ja alles auf eure SH's und so zutreffen. Für meinen Pantheon finde ich außer die YSS absolut gar nichts.
Ich hatte aber mal überlegt, mir die vom 300er SH einzubauen. Die Maße sind bis auf 5mm gleich. Problem wird das unterschiedliche Gewicht sein. Meiner hat ca 150 KG. Der SH??? 175??? Sind immerhin 25Kg........
Von Gabelfedern will ich gar nicht erst reden...... Das einzige, was ich da machen könnte, wäre eben dickeres Öl und weniger Luftpolster...
